Virginia Beach Public Library is committed to providing people of all ages with the opportunities, programs, information and materials to help them meet lifelong learning, cultural and recreational goals.
In observance of the Independence Day holiday, all Virginia Beach Public Library locations will be closed on Friday, July 4. Fireworks displays are scheduled to take place at Mount Trashmore Park and the Oceanfront at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. Waste and recycling services scheduled for July 4 will take place on Saturday, July 5. A complete list of impacted services and open facilities is available.
The Windsor Woods Library remains open to the public. Due to nearby road work, access routes may be affected. Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra time when planning your visit.

Virginia Beach Public Library accepts volunteer applications from minors who are seeking to complete court-ordered community service.
Approval of all court-ordered applicants will be at the discretion of the volunteer services coordinator. The Library need not specify a reason for unapproved applicants.
