Due to expected winter weather, the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library will close early at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. All Virginia Beach Public Library locations are scheduled to open at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Residents are invited to participate in on-site listening sessions so the Virginia Beach Library (VBPL) can understand the evolving needs of the community and include them in strategic planning for FY 2026-2030.
The VBPL mission is to meet the lifelong needs of our diverse community by providing access to quality resources, knowledgeable staff, engaging programs and welcoming spaces.
To that end, the library is hosting listening sessions and surveys in different formats, locations and on various dates to encourage as much participation as possible by Virginia Beach residents. Let your voices be heard!
The sessions are listed below. Pre-registration is preferred and available online. On-site registration also will be available.
Residents also are welcome to take a print survey available at all library branches or online from March 17-31.
