The Virginia Beach Public Library is committed to providing inclusive and accessible resources and services to the community.
The City will resume its regular operating schedule on Saturday, Feb. 22. Most Virginia Beach Public Library branches will reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. The Pungo-Blackwater Library and TCC/Joint-Use Library will open at 9 a.m., Feb. 22. For open facilities, waste collection changes and ongoing updates, visit Emergency.VirginiaBeach.gov. Our digital library remains available 24/7.
The Virginia Beach Public Library is committed to providing inclusive and accessible resources and services to the community.
Accessible Resources and Services, in cooperation with the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, provides library services to Virginia Beach residents with visual, physical, and reading disabilities. Audiobooks, audiobook players, electronic braille displays, large print books, and descriptive DVDs are mailed directly to customers' homes.
To receive the service, eligible customers must fill out and submit an application. Customers can submit an online application or print out and mail an application to Accessible Resources and Services at 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or email it to AccessibleLibrary@VBgov.com.

Accessible Resources and Services offers several specialized programming opportunities. Call (757) 385-2684 for details or visit the online event calendar. Assistive technology, scanners and special computer software are available at Bayside and Central Libraries. A staff member is available at Accessible Resources and Services to assist with these technologies.
In accordance with the City of Virginia Beach’s Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability Policy, customers may request a reasonable accommodation for library programs. Requests must be made directly to the branch manager at the time of program registration no later than 48 hours before a scheduled event.
