
Local Authors
The Virginia Beach Public Library features published works of local authors from Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas.
In observance of the Independence Day holiday, all Virginia Beach Public Library locations will be closed on Friday, July 4. Fireworks displays are scheduled to take place at Mount Trashmore Park and the Oceanfront at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. A complete list of impacted services and open facilities is available.
The Windsor Woods Library remains open to the public. Due to nearby road work, access routes may be affected. Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra time when planning your visit.

A local author is defined for the purpose of this collection as an author who currently resides in South Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, or Suffolk) or who lived in the area when their work was written or produced.
