All Virginia Beach Public Libraries, except those serving as designated cooling centers, will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Please view the City's Independence Day operating schedule for more information.
Learn MoreDue to forecasted temperatures, two Virginia Beach Public Library branches will open as cooling centers from noon to 5 p.m., July 3-5. The Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd. and the Princess Anne Area Library, 1444 Nimmo Parkway, will serve as cooling centers for residents and visitors. Only the lobby, restrooms and meeting rooms will be open at the Central Library; all other spaces and services will be closed. The entire building and library services will be open at the Princess Anne Area Library.
