Candid Databases and Resources
Candid is a nonprofit that helps other nonprofits serve their communities. VBPL offers Candid's key tools, including GuideStar and Foundation Directory. Nonprofits seeking funding can also access Foundation Directory to find and connect with funders.
Candid Search
(AVAILABLE IN LIBRARY ONLY, Not available at the TCC/City Joint-Use Library) Combines data from both Foundation Directory and GuideStar into one platform. Nonprofits can use this database to search for funding support. Individuals can access scholarships, fellowships, and grant opportunities, as well as research local nonprofits where they can work, donate, or volunteer.
Candid Learning
Learn from experts about nonprofit topics that include fundraising, proposal writing, social media marketing, and more with Candid's on-demand learning.
IssueLab
This website collects and shares knowledge from the social sector to help them do their jobs better and to deepen the impact of their efforts. Research and reports are available on over 30 Issue Areas. Additionally, curated Special Collections allow for deep dives into an issue, a current event or a strategy.
Philanthropy News Digest
This website contains a digest of philanthropy-related articles and features culled from print and electronic media outlets nationwide. It includes a list of recent, searchable and subject-sorted "Requests for Proposals" by large national funders. Register for free to receive daily alerts for news, jobs, and RFPs of interest to you, subscribe to newsletters, or submit a job posting.
