VBPL offers internet-connected computers with Microsoft Office software, plus options for printing, scanning and more.
VBPL to Transition to Cashless Service July 1, 2026
Beginning July 1, 2026, Virginia Beach Public Library is going cashless and upgrading to a fully digital payment model to make payments quicker and easier.
Provisions will be made for library cardholders with small print jobs, and additional pages can be paid for with a credit or debit card. Cash, checks and money orders will continue to be accepted at the Central Library only. Cash will also continue to be accepted for Friends of the Library purchases.

A free library card or internet use account is required to use public computers. You do not need a library card to send prints through the library’s website, email, or app!
Computers & Internet
Wireless Internet access is available at all Virginia Beach Public Library locations. Wireless internet use is subject to the library's Technology Policy. Printing is available from library computers.
To connect to wireless at VBPL, select the VB_LIBRARY wireless network from your computer or device and accept the terms of use.
At the TCC/City Joint-Use Library, VBPL card holders can access the AccessTCC wireless network by choosing TCC Guests on the homepage. You will be prompted for your library card number and a password, which is your last name in all caps.
Computers with internet access are available to the public at all Virginia Beach Public Library locations. Customers are limited to four hours of computer use per day, with a session limit of two hours.
A library card or internet use account is required to use public computers. Use of the library's public computers is subject to the Technology Policy. Customers owing $50 or more in fines will be unable to access public computers.
The Laptop Lending Station allows VBPL cardholders to check out laptops with internet access for use inside the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. Customers may check out and use a laptop for up to four hours per day.
A VBPL library card is required to use the Laptop Lending Station. Use of the laptop lending station is subject to the library's Technology Policy. Internet-Only Library Cards are not eligible to check out laptops. Customers who owe $50 or more in fines are not eligible to use the Laptop Lending Station.

At the TCC/City Joint-Use Library, each study room is equipped with a flat-screen monitor and computer.

- Printing costs are paid at the print payment terminal located at each branch.
- A $5 preauthorization hold is placed on credit or debit cards each time they are used. This is a temporary hold and is not an additional charge.
- Print payment terminals accept credit and debit cards only. (Cash will still be accepted at Central Library.)
- Print jobs are available for 24 hours after they are submitted.
- You can also send print jobs wirelessly from your personal device.
TCC/City Joint-Use Library
- A total convenience card is required to pay for printing.
- Total convenience cards can be purchased for $1 and require an initial minimum of $1 to be loaded onto the card to print.
- Cash is required to purchase and load the total convenience card.
- Printing is $.05 per page, available in black and white only.
- Print jobs are available for a limited period after initial submission.

ePRINTit: Wireless Printing Made Easy
Send documents to a VBPL printer from your personal computer or mobile device. For your convenience, and to ensure privacy and reduce waste, your print job:
- Will follow you: stop by any VBPL location except for the TCC/City Joint-Use Library.
- Is available for 24 hours after it’s submitted.
- Will not print until you are at a VBPL printer.
ePRINTit is our new wireless printing service, making it easier than ever to print from your personal device at any Virginia Beach Public Library location. No library account is required to print, and you’ll only be charged when you pick up your documents.

Important Note: If paying by credit card, a $5 hold will be placed on your card for each swipe.
There are three ways to print wirelessly.
Library’s Website (best for printing from a computer)
- Visit: vbpl.eprintitsaas.com/public/upload.
- Select your desired library pickup location.
- Upload your file from your computer.
- Choose your print settings (number of copies, single or double-sided, page range, etc.).
- Enter a name for your print job (can be your full name, a nickname, or library card number—not required). Optional: enter an email or mobile number to receive a confirmation.
- Click submit.
- When you arrive at the library, go to any printer and enter the name of your print job to release and pay for your prints.
- Important: Select Enter Library Card Number on the wireless printing page to access your daily free print credit.
Mobile App (best for printing from a mobile device)
- Download the ePRINTit SaaS app for Android or iOS.
- Open the app and select the location of your file (Photos, Files, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). You may need to connect the app to your cloud storage.
- Select the file you want to print.
- Allow ePRINTit to access your location or enter the library’s zip code to find a print location. Choose any Virginia Beach Public Library.
- Choose your print settings and enter a name for your print job (can be your full name, a nickname, or library card number—not required).
- Click Submit.
- When you arrive at the library, go to any printer and enter the name of your print job to release and pay for your prints.
- Important: Select Enter Library Card Number when submitting your print job to access your daily free print credit.
Email Printing (best for printing emails or attachments)
- Forward your email or attachment to the appropriate address:
- For black-and-white prints: bw-vbpl@eprintitsaas.com.
- For color prints: color-vbpl@eprintitsaas.com. - When you’ve finished uploading your prints, you’ll receive an email with a release code.
- When you arrive at the library, go to any printer and enter your code to release and pay for your prints.
- Double-sided printing is not available with email printing.
- Important: Print jobs submitted via email printing are not eligible for the daily free print credit.

TCC/City Joint-Use Library
- Photocopying is $.10 per page, available in black & white only.
- Photocopying costs are paid at the photocopy machine.

A valid Virginia Beach Public Library card is needed to email and save digital copies to a USB drive. Saving to a USB drive is not available at TCC/City Joint-Use Library.
There is no charge to use the readers and save digital copies.
* Please note that our multifunction printers can scan documents as well, but you will need a USB stick to perform this operation.
Send-only fax service is available at all VBPL locations except at the TCC/City of Virginia Beach Joint-Use Library.
- There is no charge to send a fax.
- You must provide your own cover page if one is needed.
- You will receive a confirmation page for your records once the fax has been sent.
Microfilm/Microfiche Readers, Printers & Scanners
Microfilm/Microfiche readers are available at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library and the Wahab Public Law Library. A valid Virginia Beach Public Library card is needed to print, email, or save documents to a USB drive.
- There is no charge to use the readers and save digital copies.
- Black and white, letter-sized (8.5x11) copies are $.20 per page.
- Additional sizes and color options are available for an additional cost.
- Payments for prints can be made at the print and payment terminals.
3D printing is currently free at Virginia Beach Public Library and available at select library branches during our open hours.
